ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's soccer team defeated Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opponent Lourdes (Ohio) 3-0, on Wednesday.
SHU maintained possession for the majority of the match, outshooting the Gray Wolves 25-2 and holding a 6-0 corner kick advantage.
Alexis Gainer scored the game-winner for the Saints in the 32nd minute when she finished a rebound inside the eighteen.
In the 63rd minute, SHU (8-3-2, 4-1-0) capitalized on a Lourdes own goal to make it 2-0 in Siena Heights' favor. Samantha Bartelotti added an insurance goal in the 65th minute when she finished an Erin Scheidel pass on the top of the eighteen.
Meghan Bogg earned the clean sheet in net for Siena Heights, stopping two shots. For the Gray Wolves (3-8-1, 1-5-0), Kiley Transit made 12 saves.
SHU will be back in action when they head to Grand Rapids, Mich. for a junior varsity and varsity double-header. The reserve squad will face Cornerstone at 2 p.m. while the varsity will face CU at 4:30 p.m. for a WHAC contest.
