#9 Women's Lacrosse Grabs Victory Over Lourdes in WHAC Play

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The No. 9 ranked Siena Heights women's lacrosse team hosted Lourdes in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest on Saturday. The Saints were able to grab the 15-14 victory.

SHU opened scoring and grabbed an early 3-1 lead before Lourdes caught fire and scored seven unanswered goals to give them an 8-3 advantage. To end the first half, the Saints scored six unanswered goals of their own to send the game into halftime, all tied up.

The second half was a battle with scores being traded. The Saints were able to take the lead with 5:38 remaining and hung on the rest of the way for the victory.

Kayla Parks and Marissa Cirino each scored four goals for SHU. Taylor Swartz, Aliisa Mason and Parks, all finished with one assist. Tabitha Ferguson recorded the win in net, making six saves. 

Alyssa Long led the Gray Wolves with eight goals, while Ashley Hunt and Mary Tressel each completed the game with one assit. Kiley Ketteman suffered the loss in goal, making nine saves. 

The Saints will be back in action on Wednesday, April 19, when they host Davenport in a WHAC contest. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
