ADRIAN, Mich. -- The ninth-ranked Siena Heights women's lacrosse team hosted Madonna in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest on Wednesday. The Saints came away with the 23-5 vicotry.
The Saints (7-3, 4-3 WHAC) opened scoring less than two minutes into the game and the Crusaders tied the score less than a minute later. After those two goals, Siena Heights scored eight unanswered and never looked back. SHU went into halftime with a 14-3 lead and were able to expand that margin in the second half, coming away with the convincing win.
Kayla Parks, Marissa Cirino and Taylor Swartz each scored four goals for the Saints. Aliisa Mason finished with a team high six assists. Tabitha Ferguson made one save in net for Siena Heights while Rachel Ries made two.
Madonna (0-7, 0-5 WHAC) was led by Sarah Carlson with four goals. Katherine Buchanan added one goal.
Next up, the Saints will host Cleary on Thursday, March 30. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
