DEFIANCE, Ohio -- The Siena Heights women's golf team finished in third place with a team score of 347 at the Jon P. Spiess Memorial Women's Golf Tournament hosted by Defiance College. Junior Madisyn Reed (Adrian, Mich.) led the Saints with a team-low score of 82 for the round.
Senior Allie Barron (Ypsilanti, Mich.) had the second-best score for SHU with an 84. Junior Gabrielle Anderson (Fraser, Mich.) was third with an 88. Senior Amy Nordstrom (Grand Rapids, Mich.) and junior Emily Witaszek (Temperance, Mich.) rounded out the Saint scores with a 93 and 97 respectively.
Siena was just five strokes short of catching Albion for second place. Winner Tiffin shot a 312 to sit firmly atop the final results.
The team will travel back to the Defiance area this weekend when they play in the two-day Defiance Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, September 8-9. Round one is set for a 1:00 p.m., start time; round two will take place at 8:00 a.m., on Sunday.
