Siena Heights junior Peyton Banks (Wadsworth, Ohio) was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) women's basketball player of the week by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Banks led the Saints during their 3-0 week with 19 PPG, 6.0 RPG. She shot 54.1% (20-37) from the floor, 50% (7-14) from deep, and 83.3% (10-12) from the free-throw line. She started the week with a 19-point, seven-rebound game in the win over UNOH. For Saturday's game against Concordia (Mich.), she netted 12 points and three rebounds. Her final performance of the week was her best, as she tallied 26 points (13 of which came off 5-5 shooting in the first quarter) in the double-digit win over Madonna.
This is her second WHAC player of the week award for the 2020-21 season and the seventh of her career. She won four awards last season before taking home the WHAC Player of the Year award.
Banks and her teammate finish off the regular season tomorrow (Tuesday, February 23) with a showdown against No. 9 Indiana Tech. The game is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m., EST.
