Siena Heights women's basketball sophomore Peyton Banks (Wadsworth, Ohio) was tabbed the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) women's basketball player of the week when the league office announced the awards on Monday afternoon.
Banks led the Saints to a 2-0 record for the week after averaging a double-double with 16.5 points and 10 rebounds. She scored 19 points and hauled in eight boards in the 79-53 win over Aquinas to start the week. Banks followed up that performance by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds in a four-point win over No. 7 Indiana Tech to end the week.
This is the third WHAC player of the week award for Banks as she collected one earlier this season in November. Her first one came in February during the 2018-19 campaign.
The Saints have a short road trip this Saturday, December 14 when they meet Lourdes in Sylvania, Ohio for a WHAC matchup at 3:00 p.m., EST.
