ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's basketball team will face Lawrence Tech in the first round of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) tournament on Wednesday nights in the SHU Fieldhouse.
The Saints swept the regular season series against the Blue Devils. Siena won the first game 63-56 on the road in the first game of the 2018-19 season before completing the sweet in a 60-57 at home in January.
The Saints are 7-2 since the second meeting with Lawrence Tech including a 70-60 win over Indiana Tech to give the Warriors their first loss in conference play. The Blue Devils are 5-3 since their last meeting with Siena including a 73-68 win over UM-Dearborn.
Senior Alyssa Larson leads the Saints with 11.4 points per game as well as leading the team with 6.5 rebounds per game. Her mark in points per game is 15th in the WHAC while her rebound average is eighth. Demi Russell (10.3 ppg) and Kiana Votava (10.1) are also averaging double-digit points this season.
Nicole Buckingham leads Lawrence Tech with 18.7 points per game and also leads the team with 9.9 rebounds per game. Buckingham is also the leading scorer in the league and is second in the WHAC in rebounding. Kendall Fisher scores 12 points per game this year.
Tickets for Wednesday's first-round game are $7 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
