SOUTHFIELD, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's Basketball team fell 65-46 to 24th-ranked Lawrence Tech in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action, on Saturday.
The Saints ( 5-7, 3-4 WHAC) and the Blue Devils were neck-and-neck during the first quarter, tied 12-12 heading into the second. A strong second quarter for LTU forged a nine-point gap, which the Blue Devils held onto for the remainder of the game.
Siena Heights was led by Demi Russell and Azalea Miller, each scoring 15 points. Miller added four rebounds, two assists and two steals for the Saints. Leading the Blue Devils was Hayley Walkowski with 26 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Danielle Hanson added 11 points while Teryn Kline tallied 10 points for LTU (10-2, 6-1 WHAC).
As a team, the Saints went 17-51 (33.3%) from the floor, 4-11 (36.4%) in three-point land and 8-15 (53.3%) from the free throw line. Lawrence Tech shot 25-55 (45.5%) overall, going 9-21 (42.9%) behind the arc and 6-9 (66.7%) from the charity stripe.
The Saints will return to action on Saturday, Dec. 16, as they host WHAC opponent Madonna in a 5:30 p.m. contest.
