LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Siena Heights recent graduate Ashley Helmink earns another individual award from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) as she was named to the 2019 NFCA NAIA All-America first team that was announced by the organization this afternoon.
Helmink led the Saints in almost every offensive category with 63 runs, 80 hits, 25 doubles, nine triples, 10 home runs, 60 RBIs, .882 slugging percentage, and a .462 batting average. She broke single-season records for runs, doubles, triples, and RBIs.
Helmink was the only NFCA All-America selection in the state of Michigan and the only WHAC player listed. She adds this honor to her long list of accolades from this season including 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-America First Team, NAIA All-America First Team, Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete, WHAC Player of the Year, first team All-WHAC, All-WHAC defensive, and Academic All-WHAC.
