Lawrence Tech got out of the inning with a foul out, fly out, and a strikeout in consecutive SHU batters for the three outs.

The final opportunity for the Saints came in the 6th-inning when Ward was moved to second on a sacrifice bunt from Kayla Boland, but the final out of the inning was recorded on the next play to keep things at 1-0.
