Men's Volleyball Wins Second Straight With a 3-0 Victory at Thomas More

COVINGTON, Ky -- The Siena Heights men's volleyball team earned a second consecutive 3-0 win with a victory over Thomas More on Saturday afternoon. Bryce Johnson led the Saints with 10 kills on the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Saints took a quick 1-0 lead after a 25-13 win in set one. Siena tallied eight kills and only two attack errors in the first game for a team hitting percentage of .286 on the way to the victory. 

The team hitting percentage improved to .284, a match-high, in the second set. The Saints again had eight kills in the game to earn the 25-16 decision and a 2-0 lead to put Thomas More on its heels.

The SHU Saints added 11 kills and a .135 hitting percentage in the third set to end the match with a 25-17 victory in the third. 

TOP SAINTS

= Bryce Johnson added eight digs and a block to his match-high 10 kills to lead Siena to the win.

= Keegan Crawford finished with six kills, 10 assists, and a match-high nine digs in the match. 

= Emilier De Jesus led the Saints with 13 assists and eight digs.

= Emmanuel Chaidez, Evan Cashen, and Alex Garavalia each totaled two blocks.

THE OPPOSITION

= Nick Richard led the host Saints with eight kills and seven digs.

= Tanner Miller paced the Thomas More attack with 21 assists.

= Jakob Jones led the home Saints defensive effort with five blocks.

UP NEXT

The Saints will travel to face NCAA Division II Davenport in an exhibition game on Tuesday, March 12. The Saints will return home after that game to host the SHU Tournament on Friday and Saturday, March 15 and 16. Siena begins that tournament with matches against Cumberland (Tenn.) at 5:00 p.m. and Lincoln (Ill.) at 7:00 p.m. on day one of the two-day tournament.
