GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Aquinas bested the Siena Heights men's soccer team, 2-0, in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play, on Wednesday.
Alex Mendez converted a penalty kick for Aquinas (8-3, 3-1 WHAC) in the 6th-minute for the game-winner. In the 52nd-minute, Jacob Bedi finished a pass from Mendez for an AQ insurance goal.
Rahbar Khan led SHU (3-7, 1-3 WHAC) with three shots as five other Saints managed two shots each. Mendez took eight shots for AQ as Bedi took six.
Andrew Kozan made six saves for Siena Heights as winning goalkeeper Theoren Collison stopped four shots.
Siena Heights was outshot by Aquinas, 24-17, while AQ held a 4-3 corner kick advantage.
Next up, Siena Heights will travel to Michigan-Dearborn for a 3 p.m. WHAC contest, on Saturday.
