The Siena Heights men's lacrosse team was chosen fifth in the 2020 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll that was released by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon. The Saints finished fifth in the WHAC standings last season with a 4-4 record in league play.
The defending regular-season and tournament champion Indiana Tech received nine of the 10 first-place votes to top the poll with 99 points. Lawrence Tech fell in the second spot with 83 points. Aquinas was given one first-place vote and totaled 80 points for third. Madonna finished with 74 points to claim the fourth spot, 14 points ahead of fifth-place Siena Heights. Lourdes tallied 48 points for sixth. UM-Dearborn was seventh with 37 points. Concordia (Mich.) (29), Taylor (Ind.) (27), and Cleary (13) rounded out the poll.
The Saints kick off the 2020 campaign on Saturday, February 22 with a road contest against Cumberland (Ky.). The game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m., EST.
