Men's Golf Competes in Shootout at Stonehedge

AUGUSTA, Mich. – The Siena Heights men's golf team competed in the Shootout at Stonehedge on Friday and Saturday. The Saints finished 13th out of the 16 teams.

Jimmy Monteith finished on top for the Saints, scoring an overall score of 161 (80-81) and tying for 42nd place.

Nick Sanscrainte and Nicholas Burnham tied for 57th place, both scoring 166. Sancrainte shot an 86 in round one and an 80 in round two. Burnham shot an 88 in round one and improved in round two with a 78.

Tying for 63rd was Robert Kowalenko and Aaron Bitz with an overall score of 168. Both men also finished with a round one score of 82 and a round two score of 86.

As a team, the Saints placed 13th and scored a total score of 655, only two strokes behind the 12th place team. SHU shot 330 in the first round and 325 in the second round. Northwestern Ohio ranked first with a score of 591 (301-290), followed by Madonna with a 602 (297-305). Finishing first overall was Lewis Scott of Northwestern Ohio with a total score of 144 (74-70).

Next up, the Saints will compete in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Championship on Monday, April 24, at Gull Lake View Golf Club in Augusta, Mich.
