Siena Heights men's basketball senior DeMarco Dickerson (Detroit, Mich.) earned the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) men's basketball player of the week as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Dickerson started the week leading the Saints with a double-double as he scored 23 points and had 12 rebounds in an 85-79 win over Aquinas on Wednesday night. He shot 8-11 from the floor, 2-4 from beyond the arc, and 5-6 from the charity stripe. He followed up that performance contributing eight rebounds and a team-high of four assists while shooting 9-22 from the floor and 5-10 on three-point attempts as he was the leading scorer tallying 24 points in the tough one-point loss against Indiana Tech during the final seconds of the game on Saturday afternoon.
This is the first WHAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week award of the season for the Saint program and the first of Dickerson's career.
The Saints return to action this Saturday in a conference road game against Lourdes. The game is set for a 5:00 p.m. tip-off.
