ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's basketball team dominated Northwestern Ohio, 93-77, to earn a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference victory.
To start the first half, SHU and UNOH went shot-for-shot until the Racers broke out with a six-point lead with 7:05 on the clock. Siena Heights fought back as Nick Randle and Keith Jordan Jr. carried SHU to a 41-39 lead with 00:04 left. Nathan Bradley made the three-point buzzer beater to put the Racers up, 42-41, at the half.
The Saints (9-12, 5-9 WHAC) came out to a quick start in the second half, sinking three triples along with two jumpers to earn a 54-46 lead with 17:53 remaining in the game. UNOH tried to edge their way back in, cutting the SHU lead to only six points, 75-69, but a Jordan dunk shifted the momentum and it was smooth sailing from there for Siena Heights, eventually earning the 16-point victory.
Jordan led the Saints with 28 points and six boards as Randle managed 27 points, including four three-pointers, four rebounds and six assists. Also earning double-digit points for SHU was Josh Winowiecki with 16 points and Tony Jackson II with 13 points, making every shot he took including three triples.
Leading the Racers (11-12, 4-9 WHAC) with 20 points was Sadeeq Bello, also earning two assists. Xander Smart tallied 13 points as Kenny Lemon managed seven boards.
Siena Heights managed some sharp-shooting, going 34-54 overall to earn a 63.0%, that includes 10-17 (58.8%) behind the arc and 15-20 (75.0%) at the free throw line. The Racers went 29-63 (46.0%) from the floor, 11-24 (45.8%) in three-point land and 8-10 (80.0%) from the charity stripe.
Next up, the Saints will host Lawrence Tech on Saturday in the Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Game. The event with start with the women's junior varsity game at 3 p.m., followed by the women's varsity at 5:30 p.m. prior to the men's varsity tipoff at 7:30 p.m.
