DETROIT, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's basketball team traveled to take on Marygrove in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Saturday. The Saints dropped the contest by a score 94-78.
At the end of the first half, SHU was trailing by seven with a score of 47-40. The Mustangs scored 43 points again in the second half and the Saints did not have enough, as Marygrove pulled away for the victory.
Keith Jordan led the Saints offensively with 23 points. Jerrell Martin contributed a double-double of 15 points and a team high 14 rebounds. Tony Jackson also scored in double figures with 11 and added six rebounds.
The Mustangs were led by Nate Taylor with 30 points and 12 rebounds. T.K. Dixson also recorded a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds.
From the field SHU shot 30-78 (38.5%), 3-15 (20%) from three and 15-23 (65.2%) from the free throw line. Marygrove knocked in 36-62 (58.1%) from the field, 16-24 (66.7%) from three and 6-9 (66.7%) from the charity stripe.
The Saints will be back in action on Wednesday, Feb. 15, when they host No. 10 Davenport in a WHAC contest. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m.
