Siena Heights University senior defensive back Trenton Morrow was among the 27 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) football players to be chosen for the 2020 College Football America (CFA) Yearbook NAIA Starting Lineup.
Morrow completed the 2019 campaign with 48 total tackles (18 solo), 4.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, and a team-high five interceptions. His five picks put him 13th in the NAIA statistical rankings and his 0.5 interceptions per contest ranked 10th nationally. The Norwalk, Ohio product was one of the leaders on the nationally-ranked Saint defense that allowed 12.1 points per game (3rd NAIA) in 2019.
"Trenton is one of the hardest working men we have on our team," said SHU head coach Matt Kohn. "He leads by example in everything he does."
This is the first time in program history that a SHU Saint has been represented on the CFA preseason starting lineup. A total of 22 NAIA programs had at least one player selected to the team. Five NAIA programs had two student-athletes selected.
As a team, Siena Heights was placed 16th in the CFA's 2020 NAIA Preseason Top 30. The Saints join fellow Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) members Marian (4th), Saint Xavier (7th), Saint Francis (Ind.) (12th), and Concordia (Mich.) (13th) in the preseason rankings.
