ADRIAN, Mich. – The Siena Heights eSports program has announced a sponsorship agreement with ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG). The agreement will equip the Saints eSports teams with cutting edge technology to help them achieve success in the competitive collegiate gaming world.
The ROG brand was formed by ASUS in 2006 as a continued effort by the company to put a greater emphasis on PC gaming. The brand's sole purpose is to deliver the most innovative hardcore hardware for the truly dedicated gamer.
With this sponsorship, ASUS is providing high-quality gaming monitors, mice, keyboards and headsets to use in SHUs new state of the art eSports Arena located in Dominican Hall. The Siena Heights eSports team will be holding several ASUS events starting with a Rocket League tournament on November 17th, 2018.
"This is a great partnership with ASUS they are innovative in their technology and have a strong understanding of the program at Siena Heights and our drive to provide ethical gaming standards and promote a safe environment in the sport," said SHU eSports Director, Thomas Goodman, "ASUS was also interested in our commitment to growing the number of female eSport gamers at the college level.
Siena Heights currently has teams in Rocket League, Overwatch, League of Legends, and Hearthstone. The Rocket League team began their season in September and have accumulated a 21-6 record and a ranking in the top-10. The two Overwatch teams are prepping for their third week of competition and the Hearthstone team debuted on Tuesday, October 9, 2018.
