HOW IT HAPPENED
Saint Francis struck first against the Saints in the 5th inning to go on a 1-0 lead. David Pietryga got the Saints going in the 5th inning when he singled to left field and scored two runs. Later in that inning Brenden Baker tripled to right field adding another run to the Saints lead. With SHU looking to close out the game in the 7th inning, the cougars added a run to make it 3-2 but Trevor Willis came in for the save.

Saints got on the board first when Connor McCoy singled to left field and score Brendan Green to make it a 1-0 game. SHU's starting pitcher Rob Oliver went 4 innings, 5 SO, and 0 ER to hold the Cougars offensive off.
Then St. Francis would score in the 5th inning off back to back RBI singles to go ahead 2-1. That next inning SHU would score on a wild pitch to tie the game up. Into extras went the game where in the 9th inning Saint Francis would score on a double to go ahead 3-2. Siena couldn't not score in the bottom half and took the extra inning loss.
The Saints will host Cleary on Friday, March 15th, 2019. First pitch is set for 3:00 PM.
