Siena Heights baseball senior, Riley Guntrip, along with juniors Reid Olmstead and Brendan Green were named were named to the Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-District team, as announced by the organization.
Catcher, Riley Guntrip spend his time at SHU as a Biology major and holds a 3.86 GPA. Guntrip helped the Saints this season with 34 hits in 105 at bats. He finished the season with a batting average of .324, an on base percentage of .437 and a slugging percentage of .400. He also finished fourth on the team with 24 RBI's.
First baseman, Brendan Green, an accounting major with a 3.88 GPA led the Saints with 207 at bats and a team best 74 hits for a .357 batting average. He also led the team with 42 RBI's and was third on the team with 13 extra base hits. Green finished the season with a .992 fielding percetage.
Pitcher, Reid Olmstead is a mechanical engineering major with a 3.80 GPA. On the mound, Olmstead made a team high, 15 starts in 16 appearances and pitched 89.1 innings. He finished with an ERA of 4.53 and finished tied for first on the team with 48 strike outs.
In order to be eligible for this award, the student-athlete must maintain a minimum 3.3 GPA on a 4.0 scale, have reached sophomore status, and compete in at least 50 percent of the team's contests. This award recognizes student-athletes for their combined performance athletically and academically.
