Baseball Set For Final Week of Regular Season

THE GAMES
The Siena Heights baseball team wraps up its regular season this week. The Saints will complete the Wolverine-Hoosier Conference series with Northwestern Ohio on Wednesday, before hosting Hillsdale in a non-conference contest on Thursday, and then facing off against Indiana Tech in a double-header on Saturday and Sunday.

SHU is 18-28 overall on the seaon and 9-15 in conference play. The Saints have a team batting average of .295, an on base percentage of .379 and a slugging percentage of .374. Last week Siena Heights went 3-5 as they took on UNOH, Lourdes and Concordia.

Hillsdale is 18-23 this season and 15-6 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. Through 41 games, the Chargers hold a team batting average of .282, an on base percentage of .379 and a slugging percentage of .394.

Indiana Tech is 32-17 in regular season play and 21-4 in WHAC action. The Warriors hold a team batting average of .293, a .415 on base percentage and a slugging percentage of .450.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Brenden Baker leads the Saints with a .373 batting average and a team second best, 63 hits. Brendan Green has helped the SHU at the plate with a .355 batting average and a team high 65 hits and 41 RBI's. Reid Olmstead holds a team best, 5-6 record on the mound and leads the way with 85.2 innings pitched and 47 strike outs. Olmstead has a season ERA of 3.68. Tristan Roth has also contributed significantly on the mound for Siena Heights, accumulating 60.1 innings pitched and a 3-6 record.

Jake Hoover leads the Chargers with a .336 batting average in 116 at bats and 39 hits. Steven Ring holds a team high 48 hits and 23 extra base hits. Andrew Verbrugge has a team high 72.0 innings pitched and a 2.50 ERA. Will Kruse has pitched 65.2 innings and has pitched in a team high 54 strike outs and an ERA of 3.56.

For Indiana Tech, Glen McClain leads the way with a .423 batting average in 149 at bats. He holds a team high 63 hits and 43 RBI's and is tied for first on the team with 42 runs scored. On the mound, Nate McBroom has pitched a team high 75.2 innings and a 2.97 ERA.
