Baseball Falls to Lourdes in WHAC Contest

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights baseball team took on Lourdes in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest on Sunday and fell to the Gray Wolves, 9-5. 

After seven innings, SHU was in control, 5-3 then neither team scored in the eight. A late rally for the Gray Wolves lifted them over the Saints as they scored six runs in the ninth giving them the advantage. 

Deric Cain led the Saints at the plate, batting 2-for-3 and scoring one run. Brenden Baker finished 2-for-4 and scored two run to help SHU. Riley Overacker finished with a team high, four RBI's.

Reid Olmstead started on the mound and pitched eight innings for the Saints. Olmstead finished with three earned runs and struck out five. Relief pitcher Tristan Roth suffered the loss while pitching 0.2 innings. Wyatt West pitched the final 0.1 innings of the game. 

Next up, the Saints will host Lourdes in a WHAC contest on Monday, April 9 in a solo game beginning at 5 p.m.
