Two Siena Heights baseball players were honored Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes, as announced by the governing body recently. A total of 383 men in the NAIA received this award.
Juniors Jesse Stires and Carson Wlad are first-time honorees at the NAIA level. Stires is a double-major in both math and engineering. Majoring in business, law and politics is Wlad. Both men were named WHAC scholar-athletes.
In order to be nominated for the Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete award, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.
